WWW.GOCLEAR.CO.NZ I ntertruck Distributors have moved quickly to optimise opportunities with the recent VDAM rule changes. The company are adapting inter-axle spacing and wheelbases on the ProStar T8 8x4 tractor, optimising twin steer axle loading in particular. The changes provide 11 tonne and 16 tonne with a shorter fifth wheel lead which allow trailer builders to claw back length in their gooseneck design. “It means a complete resetting and tuning of the steering geometry, and a redesign of the battery box and entry steps, but that ’s the sort of design optimisation we do here. Local assembly means we can adapt rapidly to any movement in dimension Intertruck Distributors adapt fast to vdam rules, allowing our end products to immediately benefit the customer’s earning potential, “ said Intertruck Distributors managing director Comer Board. “ We had discussions with major trailer builders on what they considered acceptable gooseneck and landing leg clearances and based our design criteria on their needs. These guys have been up against it trying to get weight far enough forward on the tractor, and we are pleased to provide our solution. The ProStar interest has been phenomenal due to our ongoing low tare history. Having orders on the production line is a strong endorsement in our brand.” FORSALE -8Mack6x4 Truck & Trailer Units from $78,000 + GST 8 Mack - 2004 to 2006 models - varying Km’s Trailer Units - 3-axle 1973 onward through to four 2004 4-axle trailers For more details contact Graham McNabb 021 207 9588 18 New Zealand Trucking October 2017 ROAD NOISE NEWS
